MEETINGS FOR 2007-2008If you miss a meeting, you must understand that the Coordinator can‘t conduct a personal make-up class in his office for everyone who misses a meeting. The class does not meet on a regular basis so a lot of important information is distributed via e-mail. Therefore it's absolutely essential that you check your e-mail at least twice weekly from September through to May. The Coordinator answers all his e-mail within 48hrs. so if you do not get an answer by then it means he did not get your message and you need to try something else (voice-mail, office visit). Meetings and due dates for the first term are: September 7th Intro to staff & course. September 12th Writing the proposal, the title & Abstract. September 19th Scientific misconduct & ethics in research. October 19h Research title, Abstract & proposal due. October 22nd to 26th Proposal practice sessions. Oct 29th, 31st, Nov. 2nd Proposal presentations in 1L12 during free slot. November 9th Use of Library resources (K. Hunt). November 14th Grad school, scholarships, GRE, writing a CV. November 16th Stress management (L. Kepron). ------------------------------- Meetings and due dates for the second term: January 15th Progress report due. January 31st PUBS abstracts probably due. February 18th-21st PUBS practice. February 21st-23rd? PUBS at University of Manitoba. March 10th First draft of thesis (ALL parts) due. March 15th (Saturday) Final talks in Convocation Hall (Wesley). April 2nd Thesis due 5PM, last day of classes. Don't be late. April ~15th-May 1st Oral exams. |
