ABOUT PUBS
The
Prairie Universities Biological Symposium (PUBS) is a biological conference
organized by students for students. Only students are allowed to present at
PUBS, although professors are welcome to attend. PUBS is a great opportunity for
graduate and senior undergraduate students to gain experience and develop
communication skills necessary for a successful career in science. Students may
give either an oral presentation or a poster presentation on proposed,
preliminary, in progress, or completed research. Therefore, students at any
stage of their program can attend and present at PUBS. PUBS also offers a great
opportunity to meet fellow students from other universities across the Canadian
and American prairies and to get information on advisors and research
opportunities elsewhere.
All disciplines are invited and
encouraged to give talks. Areas of research include, but are not limited to,
Molecular Biology, Physiology, Botany, Zoology, Ecology, Evolution, Animal
Behaviour, Conservation Biology, Biochemistry, Animal and Plant Science, and
Entomology, and Medicine.
