Hidden shapes #1
Baral was lost in the Forest of Shapes. Somehow he had taken the wrong path on the way to Borbo’s raspberry patch. Tired and unhappy, he sat down to rest, leaning his back against the trunk of a giant oak tree.
Plunk. An acorn hit him on the head. Plunk. Another one hit him. Baral looked up into the branches of tree to find the face of a squarrie grinning at him. “What do you want, you pesky squarrie?” asked Baral.
"Ha, looks like you’re lost.” answered the squarrie, “Maybe I can help but you have to help me first.”
“How?” replied Baral. “My homework for school is almost done except for two shape problems that I can’t figure out.” said the squarrie, “Solve them for me and I will tell you the way out of this forest.”
Now Baral was no genius when it comes to shapes but he was desperate. “You have a deal. What is the first problem.”
The squarrie explained, “Count the triangles that are in the diagram on this paper. You must find all of them.”
Baral hunched over the paper and began to think and to count.
